Hello everybody… well after receiving quite a bit of emails with questions from my adoring fans/ followers/ likers/ and friends (which totally makes me blush to even say) I decided Id make a blog like this
Ill start with some questions:
Q: What is in your camera bag?
A: In my pink Kelly Moore camera bag (which I totally LOVE) I carry around a Canon 5D Mark II (Whom I call my MackDaddy), and Im TOTALLY in love with. As for lenses I have a Canon 24-70 2.8L and a 50mm 1.4. My flash is a Canon Speedlite 430EX II. No secrets there
Q: Mac or PC?
A: I am a Mac… and proud of it!
Q: What program do I use to edit?
A: If I cant do it in Lightroom 3 I take it into Photoshop CS5
Q: How much photoshop is in your images?
A: Basically none… all I do is remove minor eye catchin things, sharpening, and slight color corrections if needed.
Q: How did you get started?
A: I started from NOTHING… literally! I had a strong love and strong passion for photography but didnt have the right tools to pursue anything. One day my Uncle handed me a Canon Powershot Pro1 and it NEVER left my hands! I shot any and everything! To this day Ive shot some of my favorite pictures with it… and yes I still have the camera!From there I needed an SLR to take me further… I bought a Canon 40D and turned my dial to M… YES MANUAL! For those of you shooting in AUTO… your holding yourself back! Educate yourself and turn that dial to M! After a few years with my 40D I then again decided to take another leap forward buying my Canon 5D Mark II.
The business of Photography is NOT for everybody… and its a decision you will need to make on your own. You can be a photography enthusiast… but when it comes the actual business of the thing its a whole new ball park!
Q: Do you recommend Canon or Nikon?
A: As a Canon user Im partial to Canons of course… BUT my very close friend who is also a photographer shoots with a Nikon and I cant say I honestly see a difference! Both brands are AWESOME… Nikons have a better focusing system while Canon has better lenses. So really its all up to YOU!
Q: Do you still get nervous before a shoot?
A: YES! Although I trust myself I still get nervous a little bit.
Helpful Tips:
-Find your specialty!!!! Dont be an all stop shop photographer!
-Get inspired… dont be a copy cat! There is a HUGE difference between “inspired by” and just a straight out copycat!
